NYX Liquid Lipstick Review

So a couple of week ago I decided to treat myself to a couple of new lipsticks. I've had my eye on some NYX lippy shades for a while and this time I just thought i'd take the plunge and get a couple. I've never owned a liquid lipstick before nor have I owned anything from NYX so I was rather excited to try something new. I'm a bit late jumping on the bandwagon I'm aware but I wanted to share with you the things that I love and dislike about them.

Budapest
This lip shade is from the Soft matte collection and is perfect for autumn and winter months due to its plummy berry shade. It looks lovely on the lips, when applying it goes on smoothly with no streaks. However it is a bit drying on the lips but out of the two it is the least drying, it also takes a while to dry completely. For me personally the negatives don't put me off that much because I absolutely adore this colour on me and I do love the product.

Sandstorm
This lip shade is from the Liquid Suede collection and I know I'll be wearing this colour at any time of the year. I'd say this is a dupe for Velvet teddy as it looked quiet similar when I had it on my lips BUT I think I'm the only person that can't tell the difference between all nudes, they all look the same to me. But back to the product. I absolutely love this shade, as I'm a big nude lipstick fan, but this one is very drying, it doesn't feel very pleasent so I'm not a big fan. This one also takes a while to dry but even when it's dry to me it feels quiet sticky on the lips and that's a big factor to put me off. I'm not overly all that impressed with their suede collection so I don't think i'll be trying any more shades any time soon.

Out of the two, they're completely different shades and I absolutely adore both colours but Budapest has to be my favourite overall. I'm highly impressed with the Soft matte collection, I'd like to invest in some other colours because I've fallen in love already.

What was your favourite out of the two? Have you tried any of the NYX liquid lipsticks? Let me know your thoughts.

Benefit Ready, Set, Brow! Review

If you're a Beauty Blogger or a girl who is seriously into makeup then you would have already heard that Benefit have released a new brow range only it's not fully a new range, they've just revamped your favourite products and introduced new shades as well as some new products. The Benefit brand have always been into having 'on fleek' eyebrows, in my opinion I think that's what they're most know for, that's how they stood out to me anyway. I've been really into buying magazines recently So when I noticed Marie Claire had the Ready, Set, Brow! Clear eyebrow gel I just had to pick it up and try it. What won me over is that a few people have said that this product WILL keep your eyebrows in place no matter what, which is something I need because I've been using Maybelline's Brow Drama in Clear to set my brows and it honestly doesn't do anything for me.

The product itself comes in this super cute silver metallic tube and the name of the product printed on the tube in a cute pastel pink colour which I absolutely adore, now I don't normally do pink but I love each and every single one of the pastel colour's don't ask me why I just do. The packaging shape kind of reminds me of a chess piece, I'm not sure if that's the look they were going for but either way I think it's rather cool. But I have a feeling it'll be like marmite, you either love it or you hate it. The way they've designed the wand I think is quiet clever, it's got double sided bristles one sides thicker and the other is finer which caters to how precise you want your brows, I find that rather handy.

Now onto discussing what I think of the product..

I bloody love this product! I'm not sure if it is an old favourite or it's a newly introduced one but I love it. It glides on really well, it's not clumpy, flaky and doesn't have air bubbles like I've experienced before with other clear brow gels. And it actually sets my brows in place, I put it to the test, once it dried I tried messing up my brows but they just didn't budge, they kept spring right back into place how it'd set them. It lasted all day for me and I think ti smells really nice too which is a bonus. The only thing that puts me off is the price of the product it retails at £18.50 which is a little too steep for me. I'd really love to buy this because I'm SO impressed but it's just too much. However I'm curious as to what their other brow products are like.

What did you think of the new Benefit Brow collection?

First Impressions: Makeup Revolution Girl Panic + Swatches

Makeup Revolution is becoming a lot of Beauty Bloggers favourite budget brand, from what I've seen anyway. I've only ever bought one product from them which was in fact an eye shadow palette, I bought it for my Mum as a present for Christmas. It had 100 shades in the palette and it budgeted at around £20 if I remember correctly. £20 for 100 eye shadow shades! I know right? bargain! My inner grandma just made an appearance then, I'm very sorry. I was really intrigued as to how good this product was so i'll admit I've robbed it a few times from my mum and I was really impressed. So whilst I was on holiday I shopped in the Duty Free at Playa Blanca and I came across a Makeup Revolution counter. That's where I found the beautiful Girl Panic Palette, I fell in love with all the shades instantly as they're right up my street. I bought it for around 8 Euros but it retails at £6 on their own website and in Superdrug.

The palette comes in a pretty bright luminous pink box which I think represents the pink shades in the palette itself. The actual palette is a black glossy sturdy case which has the brand name on it written in the usual rose gold metallic font. There is 18 shades, 12 which are shimmery and the other 6 are matte. Inside you'll find a fairly decent sized mirror and a double sided sponge eye shadow applicator. It also has a sheet of protective plastic which has all the shade names written on it.

Shimmers
Top row - Panic On The Street, By Invitation, Going On To Somewhere, I Am Beaten, Voices In My Head, City Trap
Middle Row - Girlfriend, Chelsea Mayhem, Random, Going Nowhere, Get Closer, Demolition
Mattes
Bottom Row - Going Under, Let It Happen, Naked Through, Hypnotic, Mesmerised, Clever Words

As I already know Makeup revolution have amazing quality products for the price. As always I adore the formula of these shadows, especially for the price. Each shadow doesn't feel powdery it feels quite creamy and soft, they're really pigmented and they blend really well on the eyes.

My favourite in this row is I Am Beaten because it's a gorgeous shimmery copper pink shade.

In the middle row I absolutely adore all of these shades but the one that stands out to me the most is Random purely because it s a gorgeous bold copper colour, almost looks metallic. Can you tell my favourite colour is copper and rose gold at the moment?

In the final row Going Under is a perfect shade for highlighting the brow bone, Hypnotic is my favourite out of all the mattes, beautiful muted purple shade and Mesmerised is perfect for creating dimension and depth in the crease.

Overall I have fallen so in love with this palette, the quality is great, I really how beautiful all the shades are and they're so easy and versatile to work with. It's Makeup revolution what do you expect? I am left a very happy makeup-aholic once again.

Which was your favourite shade from this palette?

Sandos Papagayo Beach Resort Lanzarote

So some of you will know I've just been on a 10 night all inclusive holiday to Lanzarote with my boyfriend, for those of you who didn't know, well.. I've just been on holiday, you get the point. I wanted to write a blog post about the hotel we stayed at because I was SO impressed with basically everything. Now I've only been on holiday abroad 3 times but out of everywhere I stayed this is the only Hotel I've ever been able to say I will definitely recommend staying here. By the way to hotel is HUGE probably because there was so much to do and wide range of activities and entertainment to take part in.

I'll start of with the key features of the hotel:

  • All inclusive
  • 3 Restaurants (main buffet, Italian and Fusion buffet (Oriental and Tex Mex)
  • 3 Swimming pools (one adult only, one kids and one mixed)
  • Pool bar/snack bar
  • 5 bars (one adult only)
  • Chill out terrace
  • Private beach
  • Free wifi
  • Safety deposit box
  • Air con in rooms

Entertainment:

  • Bicycle rentals
  • Tennis court
  • Multi-sports court
  • Archery
  • Rifle shooting
  • Mini golf
  • Spa (3 Jacuzzis, Turkish bath, sauna then your selection of massages etc)
  • Table tennis
  • 6 pool tables
  • Games console
  • Darts
  • Ping pong tables
  • Play area
  • Mini disco
  • Daytime pool activities and games run by animation team
  • Evening shows run by animation team
We stayed in just a standard double room with a terrace, wow the only thing that was disappointing about this was the view from the room, there was metal fencing all around the back of the block of rooms, I think this was to stop people or animals or whatever from getting in, me and Kyle actually walked round the back of our room as it was the way to get to some small private beaches. I am aware you could make a complaint and ask for a room change but it didn't really affect us because we spent more time outside rather than in our room, as long as it has a bed, a mirror and a shower I wasn't too fussed and certainly didn't ruin our holiday.

Now the other point that was actually a down fall was the food at the hotel. For breakfast it was your basic continental breakfast; Cereal, toast, pancakes, fruit, full English and they they had like pate's and meats such as ham and salami etc. For lunch they had all your salad stuff, fish, chicken beef, turkey and pork both grilled and slow cooked. One time they had shark too which I was going to try but it was really hard to cut away so I ended up having a strop and storming off like a 13 year old stroppy teenager. Then there was chips, paella, chilled and hot pasta, and in the Italian restaurant they had a live station where they made your choice of pasta and sauce in front of you as well as pizza. Then lastly for Dinner they had near enough the same just different flavours and toppings etc. Obviously I got sick of eating the same stuff but it was more the quality of the food (whenever I've been away the foods always upset my stomach because of the diet change of how they cook things differently) so I ended up just eating Spaghetti Bolognese every day, no joke. To be expected considering it's my favourite meal ever.

The fusion restaurant you had to book in advance in order to get a table. This restaurant had alternate days of Oriental food and then the next it was Tex Mex. We was lucky to eat at both of them, because it was set out to be a proper restaurant the food was a lot more better quality. Oriental was the better of the two because I love Chinese, Thai, Indian etc. On the other hand Kyle preferred the Tex Mex

Now on to the staff at this hotel, they where all so friendly and helpful which was different for me because other places I've been they've always ended up being so rude and ignorant. But that's what you want your staff to be like, be nice and deal with any problems you may have. Even the maids where really nice, one of the days I'd come back to the room alone from the pool and one of the maids had just finished cleaning ours. She couldn't speak English but in the end we figured out what she was trying to say, she warned me that the floors slippy and to be careful which I thought was super lovely and nice of her to tell me. Another one of the maids, Kyle had won me a elephant teddy in one of them claw grabby machine things which was in the hotel and I'd lay it on the side of the bed side table in the room. When she'd made the bed she'd picked it up and sat it up on my side of the bed which I found SO SO cute. It's the little things. Now my favourite staff where the animation team, they where all so friendly, forever forcing you to take part in the activities they'd organised which I was glad about because it made me try new things. I tried archery, I didn't win but I beat Kyle which is the only thing that matters. I also played water polo which was rather fun, until I got too cocky and jumped up in the air to grab the ball, when I'd landed my foot went from under me because I'd slipped and I had the shock of my life. All the entertainment they put on for both kids and adults was absolutely amazing and you could tell they put in so much hard work and effort. I just wish I could have stayed longer because they went round actually getting to know you and becoming your friend which really makes an impression on me. They actually invited me and Kyle out with them on our last night for a few drinks but sadly had to decline because we was up really early in the morning due to flying back home and still had to finish packing :(

All in all if you are staying in Playa Blanca please stay at this hotel because trust me you will not be disappointed. Even though there was a couple of bad points for me which they could obviously improve on, it seriously does not spoil your holiday! I still left extremely happy wishing that I didn't have to leave. I'll definitely be returning in the future whether it's next year or in a few years.

I'm extremely happy with my self for stepping out my comfort zone and trying new sports; archery, water polo, went on a bike ride, tried out the sauna and Jacuzzis, played pool basically every single night and got very very drunk every night apart from one. I had so much fun, a holiday to remember. Gorgeous Hotel, lovely staff and fantastic entertainment, I'm just super grateful I got the chance to share it with someone very special to me.

Don't forget you can find me in all these places too!

What I've Been Loving This Month

Yes, It's that time of the month again where I share with you the beauty products I have been loving this month. Now recently I've been on a spending ban due to going on holiday soon, and well.. I failed. In my defence I only bought a few products which is why this monthly favourites is going to be very short but I've been loving these so much and I'm really impressed so I think they're worth sharing with you.

Just a heads up all the products are from L'Oreal but without further ado I'll crack on..

So the first thing I've been absolutely loving this month is the L'Oreal's Infallible Sculpt Contouring Palette. Now what I love about this the most is that it is a cream to powder finish, I know! It's cool right? I really like the consistency of this it's really easy to blend and buildable so it is perfect for all skin tones and it suits my skin tone really well due to it having a beautiful cool tone to it which means it isn't orangey what so ever!

The second product I have been loving is L'Oreals Super Liner Perfect Slim. I needed a new liner and even though I still had a lot left my gel liner started to dry up so it didn't have the same effect. I've had my eye on a felt tip liquid liner for a while now and thought I'd give this one a whirl. I LOVE this product, it's my new holy grail and I don't think I'll ever stop loving it. It's really easy to create that Perfect Cat eye liner look due to the nib being really slim and in the shape of a felt tip which also helps you control the thickness of your desired liner look.

And lastly I've also been loving L'Oreals True Match Foundation. I've used this before and I was loving it last year but I strayed away from it and went to Mac. Now I've recently rekindled my love for this foundation. The reason why I love this foundation is because I remember my mum saying last year whilst on holiday 'your face and skin looks so flawless' now if I remember correctly this is the base I was wearing. The True Match Foundation is the only foundation I've found that suits my skin tone the best, any others I've tried previously from other brands they're either too dark, too light or too yellow toned for me. L'Oreal is a winner for me. I've found when applied to the back of my hand first before applying to my face True match is quite runny, it's a light/medium matte coverage but I always apply a second layer to the places I think I need it more so I guess it's buildable.

Whats your favourites this month?

Percy and Reed Hair: Wonder Overnight Recovery Review

Recently I've started buying fashion and beauty magazines again so I can have a browse at the latest trends and seeing which products are the next big hit. I picked up the Elle magazine as I noticed they had a freebie inside which caught my eye. It was this Percy and Reed Hair Wonder Overnight Recovery. Three reasons why this product caught my eye:

  1.  For a sample the tube looks rather big and I thought I could get a few uses out of this
  2. I've never heard of their products before so I thought i'd give it a whirl
  3. The packaging looks super cute
Once I'd bought my multiple magazines I went onto their website to read up on this product and discovered it's not actually out yet so I guess this sample was for the promotion of their new launch. I have no idea how much it will be retailing at but judging by their other products it'll be something between £10 - £20 which is quiet expensive. I believe their Wonder Overnight Recovery will be available from the 1st of June online and in stores.

The Blurb on the back says "Instantly absorbed into dry hair Wonder Overnight Recovery helps to nourish and re-hydrate every strand. Natural Protein boosts the hair's ability to retain moisture, which potent conditioning agents resist humidity, fight frizz and boost shine. The leave in treatment promotes your hairs strength and flexibility, combating brittleness, breakage and the signs of daily damage".

So I applied the product and massaged into my roots and applied some to the ends of my hair before bed as recommended and slept with it in, it's basically an overnight hair mask. The product was almost like a lotion which was quiet light it didn't appear to be thick and heavy. For me the scent wasn't very overpowering either, i'd say it smelt like that Salon type of smell or conditioner something like that. Either way I liked it. The morning after I washed it out with shampoo like it recommends. It tells you that no conditioner is needed but I still conditioned my hair anyway because I do it religiously. I then went onto drying and styling as normal which for me I straighten my hair every time I wash it, I don't usually need to do it the day after, my hair stays straight.

It didn't 'fix' my split ends as such or even make a difference too my split ends but what I did notice was it left my hair feeling very soft, sleek and shiny after heat had been applied and that did impress me because I feel my hair looks rather dull and dry. I've recently had some blonde put into the ends of my hair and I THINK it brightened the blonde a little bit too. I'm a bit unsure as to whether i'd repurchase this product again due to the price range being so steep but i'd definitely recommend purchasing the ELLE Magazine and trying out the sample inside to see what you think first before buying the full sized product. Apart from the price range I think this a really good product that lives up to what it claims to do for you.

Have you tried this product or any others from Percy and Reeds Hair range?

Simple Skincare Routine for Sensitive Skin

Now I'm no expert when it comes down to skin care, I actually have a lot to learn myself when it involves looking after my skin, but I get the gist on the basics. This post is purely just to share the products that I use that work best with my skin type at the moment.

All these products are from the brand Simple, and they are a Drugstore favourite for a lot of people as they claim to be sensitive skincare  experts.
The products that I am currently using are the Moisturising Facial wash (£3.39), Purifying Cleansing Lotion (£3.29), Deep Cleansing Face Mask (£3.99) and the Cleansing Facial Wipes (£3.25 for a pack of 25).

Moisturising Facial Wash - The face wash is to keep your skin thoroughly cleansed and nourished. It contains 2 vital vitamins that gives your skin the nourishment it needs; B5 which restores, softens and smoothes & Vitamin E which gives a hydrated feel. It also has 1 skin 'loving' nutrient; Bisabolol which helps to soothe and calm your skin. From what I have experienced with this product is that it helps my skin feel really clean and hydrating, it makes me feel like it gets rid of  the last bits of dirt after I've removed any makeup but also gives me a refreshing wake me up in the morning. My skin always feels super smooth too, as smooth as a baby's bottom!

Purifying Cleansing Lotion - Simple's puryfying cleansing lotion is for gently cleansing dry skin types so it smooths and softens the surface. However this product only contains 1 vital vitamin which is B5 and 2 'loving' nutrients; Bisabolol and Allantoin which softens and protects your skin! Now, because I am being honest with all of you, my experience has been quiet a love hate relationship with this one. It does all the above, cleanses my skin and removes any makeup and dirt on my skin BUT it's been causing my skin to break out at times when It never normally does, even though it's specifically been made for sensitive skin. I'm unsure if I am supposed to carry on using it and eventually it will do some justice for my skin or if i'm actually allergic to an ingredient, who knows (I need some serious skincare advice and guidance as you can tell haha).

Deep Cleansing Face Mask - The face mask is supposed to draw out the deep dirt from your pores and eliminate dead skin cells. It contains the 2 vital vitamins B5 and Vitamin E. So I have been told to believe that it also contains natural clay to detoxify and purify, & extracts of seaweed which helps to cleanse. From what I have experienced the only difference I have noticed is that my skins feels super hydrated, smooth and clean but I have noticed any difference with my blackheads. I do love a good face mask pamper night though.

Cleansing Facial Wipes - The cleansing facial wipes are to give an extra boost of cleansing and vitamins but they also tone your skin at the same time. The contain B5 and just all round make you feel refreshed. I've been using these wipes for a very long time now and I really just like them to be honest. I only use them to take off my makeup but I really do adore them.

Morning routine
First things first, I cleanse my face by using the cleansing lotion with a cotton pad to remove any dirt that my skin has collected during the night, you'll be surprised how quickly your face can pick up dirt, well with my skin anyway. I then go and splash my face with some water to help wake me up and I use the face wash on wet/damp skin and massage it into my face until it lathers up slightly and then I can go and rinse it off, and i'll then pat my face dry with a towel. Lastly, after my face has been patted dry I will re-hydrate my face with the simple moisturiser which works wonders by the way! After I have completed my morning skincare routine I am ready to take on the day!

Night time routine
This time I will remove my makeup in between 8 and 9pm using the cleansing facial wipes, I'll then use the cleansing lotion with a cotton pad again, to remove any leftover makeup that I've missed and any other dirt if there is any. Then it's time to use the facial wash to make me feel a little more refreshed (is it just me at this stage that feels like I've accomplished loads by simply just removing my makeup? I guess I just really like that clean feeling afterwards). Once or twice a week i'll use the face mask to give my skin a deeper cleanse and give my skin a little more TLC as I tend to get really dry patches on my face, i'll then just rise this off with water, pat dry with a towel and finish off by moisturising my face.

Overall I really recommend these products as they do clean your skin, pours and removes any makeup or dirt etc. But I think i'll have to invest in their exfoliating facial scrub to see if that clears up my black heads and finally gives me that 'flawless, porcelain look' (I probably should have already done that though, oops).

Whats your favourite drugstore skincare products to use?

Marc Jacobs 'Decadence' Review

Marc Jacobs Fragrances have always been a favourite of mine especially his light floral scents that are perfect for around summer and spring time. As a lot of you may already know the floral scents everybody raved about and got a lot of recognition, which is why I was really intrigued as to what this new fragrance smelt like because they'd gone for a completely different image with the bottle unlike the usual pretty pastel flower bottle top. Decadence is his first ever 'mature' scent and his been made to be sexy and sophisticated.

The bottle has been designed in a way that it replicates one of his handbags with python pattern, gold chain and a black tassel. The bottle design is a supposed to be a symbol of opulence and glamour.

Decadence is a sensual, luxurious, woody fragrance that opens with sultry top notes of Italian plum, saffron and iris. The heart of the perfume is formed by Bulgarian rose, Sambac jasmine and orris root. And the base includes warm liquid amber, vetiver and papyrus wood.

This fragrance is a perfect option for nights out or for an evening event, however I wear this fragrance whenever I feel like a quick spritz because why not?

I actually got this Perfume as a gift for Christmas by my mum so I will link the cheapest price you can get it for all sizes available below, although this fragrance is more on the pricey side than usual.

From boots:
30ml - £48
50ml - £58
100ml - £86

What fragrances are your favourite?
