Why I'm Not Ready To Adult

If you didn't already know in 2 weeks time I'm going to University. So that means in 2 weeks time I'll be moving out of my family home and moving in to Student accommodation with 5 other complete strangers that could be potential friends of mine. Now let me tell you I am absolute terrified and I'm absolutely not ready for this big step in life but when will I ever be ready? I think the best thing for me now is to just throw myself in the deep end learn how to deal with it basically. Change can be good right? So I thought considering 99% of my blog posts are lists that I would write, yes another list blog post on reasons why I'm not ready to become an Adult.

1. I don't know how to manage money to save my life

2. My mum still has to ring the doctors for me

3. I can't get through the day unless I've slept in till past dinner time or I've had an afternoon nap

4. Never used a washing machine in my life

5. I avoid cooking at all costs

6. Somehow I still manage to miss my mouth and spill food down myself

7. I still have to sleep with the landing light on

8. I refuse to talk on the phone with strangers

9. Cleaning? HAHAHA

10. When I hear the word work/job I want to curl up into a ball

Wish me look on my 'new beginning' cause I'm going to need it!

Don't forget you can find me in all these places too!

  3. I love this post. I don't want to grow up either, for many of the same reasons you don't want to. I don't know how to manage money either- when I want something I get it. The next thing I know, I'm broke. Haha. Lovely post, Claire!

  6. I'm 24 and I still struggle with a lot of these! I kid you not I went round to my Mum's for dinner the other day and she insisted I tucked a tea towel into my top to stop me from spilling. She clearly knows me better than I know myself!

    1. Haha bless you both, I don't think I'll ever be fully adult anyway, I'd rather keep my childish humor and some childish ways, just for a laugh. Thankyou for reading xx

  7. I'm off to uni too! My mum's purposely bought me a laundry bag which explains what all the symbols mean because I haven't got a clue. I already feel like I'm in debt before I've even got to uni so I don't know how I'm going to manage my money. One good thing; I'm not too bad at cooking and actually quite enjoy it:-)
    Good luck with uni!

  9. Girrrrrrrrrrrl! You are gonna be fine! Honestly, most people starting uni don't know how to use a washing machine and still have their mam's do everything for them. Trust me, there will be people even less able to adult than you when you get there!

And I gather your student accommodation is halls? That will probably be a nice easy transition before your first rented shared house :) I was not so lucky, there weren't enough halls at my uni, so major panic two weeks before i was due to start! But there were so many people in the same boat and it worked out for the best. Somehow I found three of the greatest people in my life on facebook to move in with. Didn't meet them until we all moved in and we all hit it off! I lived with two of them for the whole three years, the other still one of my closest friends. One of them is my boyfriend now haha :P trust me, you will meet amazing people who will be struggling just as much as you! That is the fun of it! It's a great chance to gain some independance but also have fun sucking at life - you will come out with the best memories and stories of your time there.

I'm so so freaking jealous of everyone starting uni! I'd give anything to go back and do first year again!

Wishing you all the luck in the world! I can't wait to read about your adventures :) xo

  10. I hated the day my mum told me I needed to start ringing the doctors myself, it's a very daunting task haha, good luck with it all, I'm sure you'll learn so much, when you come back you will be an absolute pro! I have no hope haha x
